Airbrush Art
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

Welcome to the airbushing page of the site. If you are looking for custom airbrushing or artwork on virtually any surface, then you have found the right place. All of the work contained here is done by Jason Gateman who has been involved in the custom airbrush industry for 14 years. Jason is an extremely versatile painter and has pretty much put paint on anything that will sit still long enough. Jason can confidently tackle any project you throw at him, big or small. We are constantly updating the portfolio pages as we get Jason's work gathered up into one place for the first time, so check back often for updates.

What's Happening in the Studio?

- January 12th & 13th -
Jason is in Toronto on Friday and Saturday, producing a time lapse airbrush portrait of model Camila Mendes, from Agency Rouge. On Friday the 12th, Jason and photographer/cinematographer Rob Dutchin will be shooting HD digital motion footage of Camila and will be joining Alan Compton for frame selection and download. On Saturday the 13th, Jason will be setting up and be filmed airbrushing the selection in time lapse from start to finish. For the first time ever you will be able to watch one of Jason's portraits literally come to life as the time lapse sequence gets edited into the HD digital motion footage of Camila. The creative genius of Alan Compton will be bringing the traditional airbrush technique into living technicolour video wizardry. The studio space is being generously provided by pro photographer Ron Boudreau. Sincere thanks to Gerry Turnbull of Agency Rouge, Camila, Rob, Ron, Alan and Nick. Stay tuned as the weekend passes!!!

Rob Dutchin talking to Camila about the next shot - Jan.12/07

- January 13th -
The photoshoot of the time lapse portrait went off without a hitch on Saturday. Jason and Rob Dutchin setup around 12:30pm and were finished and tore down by 8:30pm. 450 still photos were taken during the course of the day and approx. 4 hours of HD digital footage was shot. All of the files are now in the hands of Alan Compton and we can't wait to see what genius he comes up with! You will all be the first to know as soon as we have something to look at and post up. Here is a photo of the finished painting of Camila. The painting is approx. 40" x 30" and was donated to Agency Rouge as appreciation for their generous contributions to the project. We will be posting the portrait up in the portrait gallery sometime early in the week.

Fine Art Paintings, Installations and Giclee Prints in 2007

As the year progresses we will begin to post updates concerning a series of original fine art paintings Jason is producing for public gallery showings and sale. All the paintings are being produced to accompany the large installation Jason and a small team are working on entitled "The 4 Piece" - a large multi-sided and muraled aluminum structure. Everything is top secret at this point, but soon we will be providing a glimpse at the whole project. Don't miss out on this as no one has ever seen anything like it before!
